These headphones are a 3D design, modelling and rendering case study intended to explore the full deconstruction of a household consumer electronic device.
The goal was to design and model a device that allowed for all the internal pieces to be displayed and animated in an exploded view. Stylistically, the headphones were inspired by a retro-futuristic, 60's army surplus equipment aesthetic (with a little bit of Master Chief thrown in for good measure).
While not a comprehensive and fully accurate depiction of the true intricacy of miniaturised electronic components, this case study was a great opportunity to explore photorealistic rendering and animation, as well as to generate imagery in the style of consumer electronics marketing images. I took this opportunity to learn and experiment with different 3D modelling and rendering software programs, leaning into the different quirks and limitations of each, whilst also translating my own knowledge of photography and product lighting into a digital space.
